Does charity really begin at home for you?

So I see this a lot nowadays where people stop helping their close ones and go to help others. I agree you should help everyone, you should try to give charity as much as possible but what people ignore is
helping people close to them and that becomes sad. I see people go to charity events and donate a lot of money (nothing wrong with it, that's great!) but their pride gets the better of them. I see people nowadays where their close ones are in need of help not just money, it could be food, shelter or anything but no one helps and it really is heart-breaking. When people need someone the most, people turn and walk away. So does charity really begin at home?

Be generous and help everyone but don't forget those around you.

  1. I feel the same way, it seems like people are more likely to help others instead of family and friends. It really is sad.

  2. I think the issue lies in the fact that with people you don't know you can give and not expect them to show up every other month or so asking for more. It's uncomfortable to turn loved ones away when you yourself may be struggling, but they keep asking for money all the time. I guess what I'm trying to say is people feel less of a commitment attached when you give to those you don't know, that is based on my on experiences with family. I understand what your message is, but I also see both sides of the story. Great point though. Thanks for stopping by my blog recently and leaving a comment.

    Sincerely,

    1. Thank you for taking the time to comment Tania! I totally agree with your point too. I know a lot of people always seem to just keep coming back for more and more and they never look at anyone else's situation or even try to return the favour in any way which is also very sad, but your point is totally right. I was just talking about people who can afford to help their close family and friends but decide not to. Even if it is something small but there is always two sides to one story. What may seem like something on the outside may not be the case on the inside :)! Thank you for sharing your experience hun - Much love <3
