Be confident, be bold, and be YOU.

In this society many of us are still 'forced' to look a certain way, be a certain way, act a certain way and I think this needs a post of its own. Yes, things are changing very fast but this issue still exists. If not in work, then in school, if not in
school then on the street. The majority of young adults who are between the ages of 11-16 get isolated for being who they are. It may be the way they look, talk, walk, or anything. People get bullied for being who they actually are so they think it's easier to be someone else and pretend to be someone who they are not. As you grow you may be a really confident person, however sometimes you grow up and others opinions still matter to you. If anyone tells you anything your most likely to think 'oh why did they do that' 'why me' 'what they say is it really true?' but we forget that what they are saying is just an OPINION it's not a FACT.

Example- In schools many people are 'forced' to follow the latest trends because if they don't then they are not considered 'cool'. People who do not do certain things won't 'fit in'. There is a false image of what we should all look like, what we should all do and it's wrong

To the people that have something negative to say about others- why don't you assess your life before judging someone else's. You don't know what they might be going through so don't make things harder for them. If you have nothing nice to say then DON'T say it at all. You won't lose anything if you keep quiet but, if you decide to make a remark about someone else then you're not only hurting the person but you are also hurting yourself. Treat others the way you would want to be treated and put yourself in the other persons place. Think about how bad you will make them feel so just THINK before you do something.

So what do I say? BE YOURSELF! Be who you are and not what others want you to be. At the end of the day do what makes you happy and don't try to make others happy. You are living your own life. You live for yourself and not others. You are different and it's really beautiful, you shouldn't have to change or pretend to 'fit in' with society. If you are comfortable with yourself then that is all that matters. In life you will meet people who will make you stronger, you will meet people who will test and you'll meet who want nothing but the best for you. But no matter what just be YOU. Don't pretend you like something if you don't. Don't say something because you feel like you have to. Express your opinions without hurting anyone. If you pretend to be someone you're not, your just hurting yourself. If someone isn't happy with you then you're better off without them. You don't need that negativity in your life. If you are yourself then real happiness will come your way. So don't be afraid to be you because you are beautiful.

Have you ever had an experience where you weren't your true self? Or didn't get accepted because of who you were?

  3. Great post with a vital message! It's wonderful to see so much support and positivity these days about being yourself and accepting others compared to past years. We are all individual and unique, something that should be embraced, not flawed.
And as you said, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all! xx
