Get To Know Me & Liebster Award | Tag

Source
I was tagged by the lovely Fanna from FannasBeauty to do the ‘11 things you didn't know about me' tag. I was also tagged by the gorgeous Megan from LifewithMCM and the beautiful Georgee from PixelsandPines to do the 'Liebster Award' tag.
I want to thank the girls for nominating me to do the tag(s).

I have seen a lot of versions of the tags & their rules, and it turns out both rules are similar.
The way it works is that Person A nominates Person B (you can nominate more than one person).
Person B has to answer the questions that were created for them to answer by Person A.

Then Person B has to nominate people and ask them some more questions.
You also have to leave the links of the person who tagged you to do the tag.

These tags are forever going and it’s a really good way to get to know someone.

I was asked 10 questions (each) by Fanna, Megan and Georgee.
I love answering questions and this is a good chance for my readers to get to know me a little better.
If any of the questions asked are similar then I’ll delete one of them.
All the questions asked will be in a random order that I think will go with the flow.

Make sure you read Fanna, Megan and Georgee's versions of the different tags by clicking their name below

Let’s begin…

What made you start blogging?
I started blogging because I wanted to create a space on the web where I could spread more awareness over real-life situations. I believe everyone is different and we all bring something unique to the world. We often forget things that surround us and I think it’s a nice reminder for others to never forget their inner beauty. We often get caught up in the world so it’s nice to be reminded to be kind to others, or to bring more awareness for bullying, anxiety, depression etc. Mainly the things we often ignore or take lightly, that need more attention. I also want to bring a balance to my blog as soon as I get a schedule in place so I can include reviews, DIY’s, cooking recipes, and other exciting things alongside the motivational/inspirational side that I currently have.

What is the biggest challenge you are facing in the world of blogging?
TIME. Time is a massive challenge for me. Sometimes it’s really hard to find time to comment on other blogs, to communicate with my audience, to grow my audience and to even put time into making new context. So time is a massive challenge for me.

What is it that you do not like about yourself and would like to change?
Nothing. I’m extremely grateful as to who I am. The way I was brought up by my parents has made me the person who I am today. I’m proud of the person who I am today, and I don’t see anything bad in that all :)

What are 3 words that describe you best
Generous/Humble, family orientated and positive.

Most inspirational person to you?
Myself. I feel like everyone should love themselves and the person who they think is the most inspirational person should be themselves. You should inspire yourself in many ways, the most important being to inspire yourself to be better than the person who you were yesterday.

What is the second passion you have besides makeup?
Blogging. I love sharing this positive energy online when we live in a world that isn’t all positive. I love writing and sharing my knowledge and thoughts and it’s something I am passionate about. I get a lot of e-mails from people asking for advice, or just wanting to talk to someone. So being someone who they trust is something very valuable to me and nothing comes close to it. I wouldn’t ever judge someone on their actions or past (who are we to judge, right?).

Makeup is to enhance your beauty or to hide the imperfections?
I believe makeup should only be used to enhance your beauty, never to hide your imperfections. No one is ‘perfect’, and no one has the ‘perfect’ skin, life, job etc. We define the meaning of perfect ourselves. Some people do find it hard to accept themselves but I just blame society for that. We live in a world where the media has a massive influence on our thinking. From a very young age we are taught to look a certain way and act a certain way etc. And as soon as someone is different then we start to feel ‘out of place’ or they get bullied. We shouldn’t feel like that, ever. Because we are all beautifully unique in our own ways. Being different is something we all should be happy about. If people wear makeup to hide imperfections or to change their features entirely then they aren’t lying to the world, but they are lying to themselves.

Can you name one beauty product you cannot stand to use?
Urmm, this is a hard one. I really dislike using lip-glosses. I find most of them sticky and it just doesn’t feel nice at all.

Biggest beauty trend regret?
I don’t really follow trends. I just do what I like, or what will suit me. So, I don’t really have an answer for this because if I’m double-minded about something then I’ll get a second opinion on it or never do it. If you think a trend will suit you then go ahead and try it out, but I’m not really into any sort of trends. Beauty related or not.

What is one makeup product you wish companies would improve and why (nail polish, concealer, primer, etc.)?
Easy. Eyeliner. Although I love my eyeliner and have been using it for years. I find it really annoying that companies can’t come up with more eyeliners which I will be happy using and that give good results. I just feel like companies lack in eyeliners for some reasons. Some eyeliner colours aren’t intense enough, or the quality is bad, or it’s just not good enough. So in my whole life I’ve found only 2 great eyeliners (one got discontinued).

Which shade and brand of lipstick are you wearing right now?
None at the moment.

Do you prefer reading a book or watching TV/a movie?
I am not a fan of reading, I hardly ever watch TV programmes, so out of all three it has to be watching a movie. I find that most movies have some great messages behind them, and some are just good humour for when you need a good laugh. So movies it is.

How important are dreams (sleeping related, not life related)? Do you find them symbolically meaningful/relevant to your life?
Dreams aren’t really important to me. I don’t find them symbolical or meaningful however, I do believe that whatever you think before sleeping, or how your day was has a massive impact on your dreams. For example, if you have a bad day, or an argument before sleeping then you’re more likely to have a bad dream right? Only because your mind is not in peace. Sometimes you might overhear something and that can impact on your dream. Or sometimes you might just get random dreams. So that’s my view on it.

What was your favourite destination of 2015?
My favourite destination of 2015 was Dubai. The palm trees and the heat was pretty amazing (especially when you live in a cold gloomy country) so I think you appreciate it more. I just love travelling and I found that this was a great adventure.

What gets you out of bed every morning?
My alarm or sometimes I wake up because my body is used to waking up at that time.

Who are the top 5 people you would invite for dinner (whether they are still alive or not)?
Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X and Dr. Maya Angelou. I find that all of them personalities have many things in common. The most important thing being that their personality and what they bought to the world has inspired many people. These individuals are very inspiring and their story is unforgettable.

What is a secret talent of yours?
If I tell then it wouldn’t be a secret.

Summer or winter?
Both, and not forgetting autumn and spring. We are lucky that we experience all types of seasons because some people in the world aren’t as lucky. They don’t have the choice to enjoy the different experiences of the seasons so I can’t pick between them.

Sweet or savoury?
Savoury.

Favourite film ever?
The Maze Runner. This was the first film I have ever watched that I fell in love instantly! I enjoyed every moment of the film, and I was soo involved with the film that it was amazing.

What is your favourite quote?
Oh there’s soo many! 'Train your mind to see the positive in every situation'. And another is 'you can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one'. I also have soo many other favourite quotes but I’ll stop with two otherwise I’ll get carried away.

Name three things you couldn't live without.
Family. Internet/Phone. And the obvious one being food & water.

What is your favourite place in the world?
Home. There is no place like home. Your home can be anywhere in the world but nothing can come close to it.

What's your favourite TV series?
My two favourite programmes I watch are The Apprentice and Cake Boss.
The Apprentice is a programme where Alan Sugar (the business multimillionaire) gives job candidates a task to complete and in the end one is fired every week. At the end one is the winner and Alan Sugar ends up investing in the business of the best candidate. The Apprentice has been a programme I have been watching for years and it’s one of my favourites.
Cake Boss is a programme staring Buddy Valastro and his whole family. This is a series that shows Buddy’s progress in his family run cake business and I’ve literally watched nearly all of the series. I’m not a massive cake fan but Buddy’s cakes are out of this world!

What would you change in your life right now if you could?
Nothing. I believe everything that happens in my life happens at the right time and when it’s meant to be (I believe that’s what happens with everyone). So, I wouldn’t change ANYTHING. I’m very happy with the life I am living.

Windows or Apple Mac?
Laptop wise I would choose Apple Mac. Phone wise I would choose Samsung!

If you could go back in time, what time period would you go?
I would take my camera and go back to the 1990’s so I could see my childhood and relive it.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
This is such a hard one, and I can’t pick. I love eating all types of different foods, and I love trying new things so picking one meal for the rest of my life is just really hard. I enjoy cooking and experimenting with food. I can’t think of one type of meal to eat for the rest of my life. Just no. You would get sick of eating the same thing, even if you loved it enough.

  4. Hey, i really enjoyed reading this post. The answer of your first question is exactly what i think...reminding people to never forget their inner beauty and being kind to the world is a tough job, but the same as you, i aim to do it by blogging and inspiring people.
I can also totally agree with you that time when it comes to blogging is a big challenge. I work part time and have a 5 years old boy and i really struggle with finding time for blogging and promoting. Sometimes i feel like i just want to give up because i stress myself too much, but other times i feel that i will loose a part of me if i stop doing it. So just enjoy doing what you like to do and basically do it for yourself and do not care about how many post you write a week or not promoting your blog enough. xxx
