Is the Ash Kumar Henna Course Worth it?

My mum pushed me towards doing a henna course and what better place to do it than the Ash Kumar Academy. I rang them up, I got all the information I needed, I was given all the information and without wasting time I booked myself onto the course. I booked a hotel, and train down to London and I was ready. I wanted to see if Henna was something I could do on the side and if I enjoyed it.

A few days before the course we all received a call to make sure everything was OK, and to see if we had any questions that were on our mind. The day got closer and all these questions began in my head again- Will I learn everything in five days? Will I enjoy it? What if I can't do it? Will it be a professional place? Will it be safe? Will it be easy to find? What will everyone be like?

On the first day we checked in at reception and we were told to wait, everyone had smiles on their face and when we went inside the room we were greeted by Kajal Patel (one of the AK Executive Artist/Educator). Kajal introduced herself and was assisted by Ambreen (who told her own story) on the day. Then we all had to give our little speeches and the first day was VERY informative. I have to say by the end of the day we all were feeling more assured. Then by the end of day two we all got comfortable and we all started to become good friends.

The course was taught in such a way that it was very easy to understand. I had never touched a Henna cone before this course, and I felt as if it wasn't for this course then I wouldn't have learnt as much as I know now. The course was broke down in easy steps and we learnt everything!

On day three, four and five Mr. Kumar himself taught us! Now, this was one of THE best EXPERIENCES of my life. Not only did we learn about Henna but we also got to learn about life. It was very inspiring to see Mr. Kumar be very, very, very successful but at the same time, ALWAYS staying humble and true to himself and never forgetting the values he was bought up with. One of the many admirable qualities Mr. Kumar has is the way he deals with negativity. I think all the girls on the course will agree with me when I say it was an honour learning from Mr. Kumar himself and we could listen to him talk about his life all day if we could. I learnt soo much from just a couple of his examples in life and I wish him all the happiness in the world (because happiness is the real success)

Overall to quickly sum up my experience I would say I would do it all over again if I could. Learning from Mr. Kumar himself was just a phenomenal experience. I walked away with all the secrets of Mr. Kumar and I learnt from the best (what more can I say). I met a group of ladies who are soo funny, sweet and helpful. The ladies on the course made the experience even more enjoyable.
This experience will never be forgotten and I will always cherish it!

If you are thinking about a Henna course I would totally recommend the Ash Kumar Henna Course. It is worth every penny and the experience is just AMAZING. No amount of money can come close to it.

Have you ever been on the Ash Kumar Henna Course? If so, what was your experience like?

  3. Hi Ramshaa,

I've booked onto the course in February and am looking forward to it. How are you getting along since the course - have you had a lot of bookings to do their mehndi?
Would love to know if you have any hints and tips!

    1. Hi Farzana,

I think you will really enjoy the course, it's such an unforgettable experience. My number one advice is keep on practicing! Practicing will help you improve a lot and get better over time. Also, don't get discouraged if others are doing better because they have a different journey compared to yours and everything good takes time.

I'd love to hear your experience of the course, so please let me know :)
      Ramshaa xo
