She's not your competition.

This is something that is very common nowadays and it's not acceptable. Most of us look at someone and think of them as our 'competition' but if you are competing with others you don't realise but you become bitter. But if you only compete with yourself you become BETTER. Compare yourself with
you! You are your own competition. Remember when you were young and someone may have compared you to someone else, and you didn't like the feeling of being compared to others. So why do you think it's acceptable to compare yourself with others when you don't like others doing it to you.

Do you look at someone and feel insure? Do you look at someone and believe that you need to have a certain amount of recognition, success, job status, clothes, or even money to feel good about yourself? Just look at yourself, and ask what do you really want in life? What is your goal and purpose? Then plan on how you will get there and accomplish your dream(s). It doesn't matter how much you actually have but what matters is how you value what you have, and how you will go after what you want. Stop competing and comparing yourself with others and focus on yourself. Trust me, you will feel much better about yourself.

We all bring something different to the world. But looking at someone else and trying to compete with them all the time is only going to make you negative. Instead you should be happy for them, and be positive. What you are meant to get, you will. And what others are supposed to get, they will. No one can stop that, but you can stop competing with others. Compete with yourself, that way every day you wake up you become a better version of yourself. You finally start being happy because you don't care what others are doing. Yes be happy for others but don't ever compete with them. Try to open your heart and feel happy for others.
Try to build your positive energy.
Your success is written differently, your story is different, and your skills & talents are different, so just smile and enjoy the journey.

  1. Love this a whole lot, everything I stand for. I love that the phrase "you do you!" is becoming so popular in society now!

Ooh I love that quote, and your dark hair!

I love your superpower - so original! I’m totally going to be guilty of slowly but surely making my way through your Florence posts now (it would have been such an amazing experience!!!). I adore your how you would like to be remembered by others words! You’re so awesome <3

  2. Great post, very inspiring :) I used to be like that - comparing myself to other people, always thinking 'But this person is so much prettier/smarter/more interesting'. I don't do that anymore, though. I've realised now that even those who may seem perfect, have their flaws - we all do. You should always try to be a better version of yourself, not others :) <3

  3. Great post! Can I add a quote which i think suits very well with your post? A flower doesn't think of competing to the flower next to it. It just blossoms...

  4. Another lovely post, thanks for sharing. xx

  5. We never should forget how unique and wonderful we are!

  7. Love this post, it is so true! It is so hard not to compare yourself to every girl you see, but when you stop it is so good for your confidence! Really nice post x

  8. Great post! I really hate it when bloggers try and compete with each other

  9. Great advice! But sometimes I can be pretty tough on myself haha ;)

  11. I couldn't agree more, girl! The positive attitude of us, determine the future and the success ahead. Comparing only makes everything worse - if done in a negative way, like obsessive thinking.

  12. Such a lovely read it was. It is true we shouldn't compare ourself with anyone. Feel confident and always do good is my motto!

  13. Absolutely wonderful post, hon. Your thoughts are always so lovely and definitely helpful to anyone. I don't understand why we often compare ourselves to others, if we are given such a unique opportunity of being ourselves - no one can be us :)
No to bitterness, Yes to uniqueness and individuality!

  14. Very awesome post!

  15. This is a great post. Although, I also have an anxiety disorder partnered with perfectionism, which means I *do* compete with myself, which can have pretty bad consequences. But it's all about balance. :)

  16. Lovely post & one I can identify with. Always be the best version of yourself & the best version doesn't need to compete with anyone else but themselves xxx

  17. Really good article. Sometimes comparing yourself to others comes from a lack of confidence. We often think that if we're better than someone else it makes us more important. Wish is not true

  18. I love this Post.

  19. Thank you for this. Funnily, I was making up a kids story with this very same moral - be happy for others, and life is not a competition.

  20. Thank you for a great post mashallah I always try to compete with my nafs and my own character always try to be better inside and outside awesome blog xxx

  21. Great post. It is true we should stop comparing ourselves to others and instead be the best we can be.

  23. Asalamoalikum Rose,
    Very motivational piece of writing

  24. Love this post, agree with it 100%! I delve into this topic so much on my blog because it's so common and takes a lot of inner work to overcome it. Great reminder!

  25. Another way to express a positive attitude towards others is to think of our relations with them as a means of 'collaborating' not 'competing'.

That way, we begin to look for ways we can achieve greater things together NOT diminish each other in any way.

  27. Thanks for this very inspiring article sis!

  28. Competition is unhealthy. I had someone competing with me...whatever I would buy she would....it affected our relationship

  29. Couldnt agree more so true <3
