12 ways to be happier

Thanks to Melinda Pack for the beautiful visual representation.
This little post includes 12 ways you can be happier.

Learn to be positive.

Have a positive mind set which lightens the darkest of days. Your mind is a very powerful tool. When you fill yourself with positivity you can overcome any thing, big or small. Being able to control your mind and not feed into the negative energy is a huge achievement. It takes a lot of practice, but it’s not impossible. Start small and build big.

Let go of the anger.

Anger is like poison. It starts to destroy everything good within you. Anger is something which is the worst thing ever. When you start to let go of anger, you can watch how your life starts to revolve.

Give more and expect nothing in return.

When you start giving more and expect nothing in return, it feels great inside. The feeling is unexplainable but it makes you super happy. Even if you smile at someone and you know you’ve just turned their day around, it makes you feel great! Especially, if you compliment a stranger.

Start to smile more and speak nicely. It’s a little thing but makes a huge difference! Just a little smile is super powerful. Smiling can be hard, so practice smiling.

Be you.

Accept who you are and be you. Don’t ever change for anyone and don’t do things to make others happy. This is your life, live it with your standards, not by someone else’s. when you start accepting that this life is yours and you need to live it for you, you’ll be much happier!

Accept the situation.

Accept the situation, it’s happened so move on. Accept everyone around you, accept yourself and accept life sometimes isn’t fair but that’s OK. You can get through anything.

The world isn’t perfect.

The world can be a cruel place! It can take away your happiness but how you handle that situation and your mind-set is what matters. This is how you can handle the situation. Realise that there will be bumpy roads and some great paths but at the end, if that didn’t happen, you wouldn’t be the person who you are today.

Be happy with what you have.

Be happy with everything you have. Learn to see the beauty in them little things. Don’t ever wish otherwise. You don’t have something because that was the best decision for you. That doesn’t mean you can’t work hard for other things. Just, learn to be happy with what you have.

Say bye to the negative energy.

This includes getting angry, retaliating, thinking bad about others, and any negative source of energy… get rid of it. It’s not worth having and all it does is dampens your mood so relax and think of the best. It’s hard but you can do it.

Look after yourself.

Look after your mind, body and health. Start exercising, drinking more water, eating healthy (with occasional treats now and then) and start looking after yourself. Dress well and look your best. Take care of your hygiene and see how different and great you feel.

Surround yourself with people who will make you a better person. Surround yourself in an environment which makes you feel great. If something isn’t making you feel good then change it. If your furniture isn’t making you feel more productive then change it. Your surroundings have a large impact on you.

Spend more time with loved ones.

Go and spend more time with your loved ones. Make new memories and capture it. Have a laugh with them and enjoy the time you all spend together. At the end of the day, memories remain forever.

What are the things that make you happy?

Thanks for reading!
Until next time, take care and keep smiling.

  1. I love this post and your ideas. Giving makes the world better and is one of the best sources of happiness for sure! Have you seen the Ted Talk 'How to be happy everyday?' It's about giving a little bit back everyday and if you haven't seen it you should, I feel like you would like it :) And you're absolutely right, it's all about the mind-set. Happiness/ satisfaction should ideally come from inside and not be dependent on external circumstances. And yes to looking after yourself! xx

    1. Thank you so much for your lovely comment Mira! I haven't seen the Ted Talk but I have made a note and will be watching it later (thank you for sharing). Exactly! I believe when happiness comes from inside, we're able to become much more happier than external causes. xxx

  2. At the moment I've really been working on just accepting situations for what they are, even if I don't like whatever it is that's happening. I just do my best and then move on as best I can, it's been making me feel a lot better actually!

    1. That's really nice to hear Julia! No one's life is perfect, and we all have situations which we don't want to accept. But, accepting helps with the process. I'm really glad it's making you feel better :)!

Thank you SO much for taking the time to visit my blog! I appreciate all of your continuous support and am very grateful. I would love to hear what you have to say so leave a comment, and let's communicate!
