11 ways to be more mindful

Life sometimes gets busy and we forget and neglect ourselves and our surroundings. Today's post will hopefully give you eleven ways to be more mindful of your surroundings so you can acknowledge the beauty of life, without flying with time.

Yoga/meditate.
Learn to take care of yourself by meditating. It can be short as five minutes, then gradually increase it. Meditating or doing a yoga routine will help increase many aspects of your life. Your strength will improve and you will feel more relaxed and different.
Breathe.
Learn to just breathe. Concentrate on your breathing, whenever you can. Before you go to sleep try to concentrate on your breathing. Just live in the moment and embrace it.
Walk slower.
Try to walker slower than your normal speed. During the moment, look around and acknowledge your surroundings and watch the world pass by. Think about the way you’re walking, where your feet are placed and how you’re moving. Just be more mindful to all these things around you. 
Reflect.
Reflect on your day. See how you could improve it and then implement it.
Enjoy each moment.
Start to really enjoy each moment and be grateful for everything. 
Be aware of your surroundings.
This one is self-explanatory. But, just be more aware of your surroundings. Visualise and hear what’s around you. You’ll start to notice things you never did, and see the world in a different light.  
Learn to live in the moment.
Don’t dwell on the past, or worry about the future, embrace the moment and learn to live in it. Stop overthinking and just live. 
Embrace each emotion.
Embrace every emotion you have and know that it’s totally OK to have different emotions. That’s what being a human is all about.
Take it slow and remove distractions.
Take your life slow and remove all distractions. If you need to get something done then do it. Don’t say to yourself ‘later’ or ‘tomorrow’, do it today. Remove the things that are distracting you. 
Gratitude.
Have a gratitude journal. Learn to be thankful for the life you live. Thankful for all the ups and downs, for the loved ones around you, for every single thing life has to offer. Just be more appreciative.   
Mind-set.
Your mind-set is a powerful thing and when you learn to control it, in the correct way then you can see how your life begins to transform. Remember! You will always worry about something, stress about the future, reflect on the past, over-think and have random thoughts, but in a week, two months, a year or even five years, you will not remember any of that! So, start to live in the moment and enjoy it. Start with the little things, such as paying attention when you’re speaking, brushing your teeth, and even enjoying the weather. Life is too short to be stressing over the little things and concentrating on the things that don’t add value to your life.
