How to learn from your experiences

A blog post about how to learn from your experiences

We all have experiences, regardless of them being good or bad. We all go through good and bad situations. No one’s life is perfect. Even those who pretend to have a perfect life, don’t. We all have problems, whether they are known or not. It’s important to learn from your experiences and this post will let you know how you can learn from your experiences.

Have you ever hit a brick wall? Gone through a bad time in your life? Or just had a good/bad experience, no matter how big or small the situation was. The best thing you can do is to learn from your good or bad experiences. Don’t dwell in the past, instead pick yourself up and learn from the experience. In the future if you ever come in that same situation again, what would you do differently? How would you react? How would you treat those around you? Don’t let bad experiences or situations stop you from going outside of your comfort zone or doing them things again, instead learn from them and better yourself for the future. If your experience was good then build on it. What did you learn? How can you adapt? How can you work to better yourself?

It’s nice to simply have a rough idea of what you may want to achieve in your life, but know that life may have other plans for you. You don’t always get what you want but you will always go through what you’re supposed to. It’s nice to have some backup plans if plan ‘A’ doesn’t work. I always love the quote “if plan 'A' doesn’t work, the alphabet has 25 more letters”.

Nothing in life is permanent, everything is temporary. If you're going through something good, then cherish it because it won’t last forever. The same can be said if things aren’t going great, just know it won’t last forever. Feelings are temporary, pain is temporary, having something materialistic is temporary and our time is temporary. So, you have to make the best out of every situation and know it won’t last forever. Try to think positive even in the hardest of times, and try to make good out of a bad situation. Our emotions are temporary but how we react to them can leave permanent damage.

Embrace the experience you are going through because that’s how you’re going to learn the most. You can learn a lot of different things from one bad experience. Just know you won’t always get what you want, and you can’t control time. You can’t predict the future no matter how carefully you plan. You have to learn, and go through different experiences. That is what makes us all unique... our experiences shape us to become who we are.

How do you learn from your experiences? What tips do you have?

Thanks for reading!
Until next time, take care and keep smiling.
