How to go outside of your comfort zone

A place where we all grow and learn is outside of our comfort zone. It can be very daunting stepping outside of our comfort zone, but the end results are truly worth it. Don’t be disheartened if you don’t do something the first time around, it’s normal to be scared. But, one day you’ll start going outside of your comfort zone more.
 

REMEMBER THAT’S HOW YOU WILL GROW 

The first step is, remembering that’s how you will grow as an individual and learn more things about yourself. You’ll face so many different emotions in your journey and that’s perfectly normal. Even if you don’t manage to do something, remember that your thought of wanting to do something is a way you’ll grow too. 

DO SMALL ACTIVITIES 

Don’t start doing large activities at the start. Start by doing small activities and work towards your big goals. It can be daunting to even do a small activity. Small steps are all you need. The first step is always the hardest, but it’s you starting your own journey. 

GET USED TO DISCOMFORT 

Anything outside of your comfort zone will make you feel uneasy. Don’t let it put you off from stepping outside of your comfort zone. Instead, embrace it and try to get used to the discomfort and enjoy it. 

FAILURE 

Don’t be afraid of setbacks. It’s perfectly normal. Just don’t let one bad experience hold you back. You won’t love all the things you do outside of your comfort zone. But, at least you’ve tried and now you have a better understanding of what you love and dislike. End of the day, you’re growing so don’t stop your journey. 

RISK TAKING 

Don’t be afraid to take small risks now and then. If a great opportunity comes your way, grab it. Don’t be afraid and try to handle the situation with grace. 

KNOW YOUR LIMITS AND THINK LOGICALLY 

Know when you’ve had enough, when you need to stop and when you need to take a step back. Don’t neglect your wellbeing and know your limits. Think logically about the situation or thing which you want to do outside of your comfort zone. 

HONEST

Be honest with yourself! If you make excuses, be honest with yourself. If it’s too much to handle, be honest about it. If your emotions get the better of you, know that it’s perfectly normal. Just be honest with yourself and how you’re feeling. 

MORAL SUPPORT 

Don’t be scared to ask for help if you need it. If you’re going to an event and it feels like something outside of your comfort zone, ask if you can bring a friend along. Having moral support will encourage you and keep you motivated. 

Don't be too hard on yourself.
