4th blogiversary: Review and the future

In August 2015, I started my blog. I've been blogging for four years which is crazy!!!
Recently, I gave my blog a makeover. I'm still in the process of editing some things around but I've changed it a lot. If you've been following me for four years, then you know that I've changed the header of my blog on multiple occasions. However, saying that, the layout of my blog has stayed the same until recently.
With time, people grow and experience new things. So, it was extremely important for me to change my blog as I'm growing as a person. Feel free to have a look around and send me your feedback about the new look of my blog.

Quiet month blogging

It has been a quiet month on my blog. My regular posts are currently on a hold while I'm changing things around on my blog. I'm also in the process of deciding and planning where I want to take my blog from here. What kind of posts would you like to see from me?

Blogging Review

Four years is a long time and I wouldn't change the experience for anything. Before writing this post, I was brainstorming of what to include in this post. I thought, what's better than reviewing my four years online and writing down my must-reads for that year.

From August 2015

In all honesty, starting a blog is extremely difficult. You don't know anything but over time, you experiment and find your own voice. From 2015 until now, you can really see how my posts have developed. I noticed that I used to write longer posts without any subheadings. Should I bring them type of posts back? 2015, was definitely all about experimenting and here are some of my must-reads:

Have you ever been compared to someone else? - I feel as though, this is dedicated mostly to parents who compare their child(ren) to someone else's child. Most of the time, parents don't even realise that they're doing this.

Everyone is born with a good heart - I still truly believe that everyone is born with a good heart. It's our environment and circumstances that shape us and turn us into the person we become. Do some people really have a 'bad' heart? People who do bad things, may not necessarily have a 'bad' heart because they may have a family they love and care for. So, this is an interesting post to read.

How ungrateful are you? - Do you take some things for granted? Do you even realise the things you have? Do you value the people in your life? Have you forgotten how lucky you are? Another thought-provoking post which is worth a read.

Be confident, be bold, and be you - Learn to live life for yourself. Stop being scared of things which haven't happened. Stop holding on to the past. Try to be optimistic. Live in the moment and treasure each moment. You never know what is around the corner, so appreciate today and be happy! Live life for yourself, not for anyone else. You deserve to be happy. You deserve to live a life that you want. Don't follow the instructions of someone else. Take control. Be Bold.

6 valuable life lessons I learned in 2015 - They aren't 6 valuable life lessons that I learnt in 2015, but they're life lessons which I have kept with me. What are some of your life lessons?

I feel as though, 2016 was unorganised in terms of blogging. The year was filled with different types of blogging content. Some of my must-reads of 2016 are:

Does a degree buy you manners? - It doesn't matter what type of degree you have, if you don't have any manners, then is your degree worth anything? It was also nice to see comments where people have a similar mindset.

The hijab - I couldn't decide on one post for this. In 2016, I interviewed inspirational women around the world who wear a hijab. Their experiences are an eye-opener. So, if you ever wanted to find out more about the hijab then it's worth the look. So many inspirational women talking about their own story about wearing the hijab. I would highly recommend you to read this.

Ramadan Q&A: All you need to know - I get a lot of messages asking me about Ramadan and this post is great at understanding the basics about the month of Ramadan.

Stand up for yourself - Don't let anyone walk all over you. Know your rights. Know when to speak up and stand up for yourself. This post is definitely a must-read of 2016.

Benefit Cosmetics | Brows on fleek event and Urban Decay Masterclass - I blogged about attending two different events, Benefit Cosmetics and Urban Decay. These two posts are my favourite because I love the photographs, layout, and content of the posts.

2017 was a year where I feel like I got more organised. I started blogging about different things, especially about blogging and social media (my favourite posts to write). Some of my must-reads from 2017 are:

Errors new bloggers make - I decided to make a blog post about some of the errors I've seen new bloggers make. If you're new to blogging then make sure you avoid these errors.

8 things to consider before starting a blog - When starting a blog, there are a lot of important things to consider. This post mentions 8 things you should think about before starting a blog.

10 ways to have a social life - Want to become more social? Well, I have 10 different ways you can become more social.

7 ways to be more organised - There's no denying that when you are organised then you automatically feel more productive. If you want to become more organised then this post is a must-read for you.

The ultimate guide on writing a blog post (checklist, tips, and scheduling) - One of my favourite posts of 2017. If I've ever written a blog post, then there's a good chance that I've followed the method in this post. If you need help writing a blog post, then you should definitely read this post.

I feel like 2018 was a great year blogging for me. I blogged about (many different) things I was interested in. I'm extremely happy with the content of 2018 (of course, I'm happy with all of the other content I post, but I feel as though... 2018 was my favourite year). It was EXTREMLY difficult to decide on posts from 2018 but here are some you should check:

Social media and blogging tips - So, the time and effort that I spent on my 'Social Media on Sunday' series is insane! All the effort spent researching, writing, scheduling, and editing is just unbelievable. In the end, all you see is a post. You don't really think about how much time and effort is spent on one post. This 'social media and blogging tips' post took longer than expected because I had to keep coming back to my "draft" as soon as I thought of tips. If you want some social media and blogging tips then this post is for you.

The ultimate list of websites and apps for bloggers - One of my favourite posts! This post isn't actually just for bloggers (should have changed the title of the post). This blog is for anyone who may need some "writing" apps/websites or "photography & editing" apps/websites and much more. Definitely a post to read to find some new websites and apps.

Life as a Muslim doctor feat. Dr. Aishah - Out of the many special interviews I have done, this interview is extremely unique. An interview with a very inspirational women. Definitely a post to read.

How to deal with uncomfortable situations - We've all been in a situation where we may have felt uncomfortable. This blog post gives you some ideas on how to deal with uncomfortable situations.

The best way to describe blogging in 2019 is "the year of change". I have changed a lot on my blog this year and I have more changes planned too. I'm super excited about the future. But, my must-reads of 2019 so far are:

How to find yourself - A post which is extremely important to me and worth a read! It's so important to find who you are, what you like, dislike, want, need, and what you want to make of your life.

How to become a bloggerANYONE can become a blogger. It's easy as that. I blog because I enjoy it. I love having my own little place online. I love writing about the things I'm passionate about. I love the experience and skills gained from blogging. So, if you want to become a blogger then this post is a must-read for you.

How to balance blogging with life commitments - If you have other commitments alongside blogging, then balancing everything can be difficult. This post will help you understand how you can balance blogging with other commitments you have.

How to stop procrastinating - Something we all do (nothing wrong with a little bit of procrastinating). Procrastinating too much will stop you from doing the things you should be doing. So, this post is perfect if you want to procrastinate less.

How to stay motivated - We all lose the will to stay motivated at times, but, this post can help you to stay more motivated.

For now, I'm taking a break from posting online. I'll let you all know what to expect on the blog very soon! There's changes happening and I'm SO excited.

I think the GIF above is perfect for this post since my blog turned four this month! I hope you enjoyed reading this post.

Thanks for reading!
Until next time, take care and keep smiling.
